SELEQUITY™ in Education – A 90-Minute Professional Development Workshop to Maximize Impact

The pandemic changed our world overnight. It impacted the way we lead, learn, and teach.  It also revealed inequities in education that affect the mental health and well-being of students and educators. Focusing on Social Emotional Learning and Equity has become of paramount importance. To meet the needs of all students, and empower educators to create meaningful relationships and connections, we believe that SEL + Equity are better together.

SELEQUITY™ looks at social emotional health, fairness, empathy, compassion, and well-being for all humanity through an equity lens. Through evidence-based strategies, SELEQUITY™ in Education offers K-12 educators and administrators core competencies that will help them:  1) Understand the value of diversity, 2) Develop a culture of inclusion, 3) Manage biased thinking and behavior, and 4) Consider how to provide an equitable classroom and school experience for all students.

SELEQUITY™ emphasizes the importance for educators and students to engage in critical thinking and conversations that celebrate the beauty of similarities and diversity, which play a critical role in justice and equity from the classroom to the playground, to the world around us.
