Course Description More Details
Participants will learn the intertwined and reciprocal nature of reading and writing. Specialized strategies in writing will be presented as a means of improving reading skills through the enhancement of comprehension and learning. The writing skills will provide students with a means of recording, connecting, analyzing, personalizing, and manipulating key ideas from text. This course will count toward the requirement for the SWD points.
Participants will:
•learn research based writing strategies to use in the classroom to enhance reading comprehension
•be presented with current research results indicating the enhancement of reading comprehension through writing instruction
