Course Description
 More Details

RIEL Biology is a research study and professional development program for Florida biology teachers to learn about best practices in instruction for multilingual students. Participating teachers attend a Fall Institute and learn about the RIEL Biology instructional approach. During the fall institute, teachers participate in how to implement SEP to delve into the RIEL Biology elements, creating lessons for multilingual students that are academically challenging and culturally and linguistically responsive. Teachers will work through the elements and implement the riel element along with a science and engineering practice in their classrooms and videotape them. After completing the project, teachers will work in the Summer institute to create a RIEL lesson plan.
