Written and instructed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts in HCPS, this is a self-paced course designed to help the participants learn to deal with more extreme behaviors that cause significant disruptions in the learning environment and/or are potentially dangerous. The training begins with a discussion on the most effective ways to initially Respond to more extreme behaviors and describes the appropriate levels of response needed for various situations. Participants will be able to demonstrate the steps to Redirect inappropriate behavior, and how to discriminate which punishments are most effective and when to use them to Reduce extreme behaviors. In the last section, the course outlines procedures to Restore a student to the learning environment after they have been removed from class.
PLEASE NOTE: This course must be completed by the end date. No information will roll over to future offerings.
There is no zoom follow up meeting.
