 More Details

Through the support and funding of the Florida Department of Education, Florida IPDAE will be hosting regional mathematics content area workshops for adult educators in four (4) centralized locations within the state. These workshops will focus on core mathematics and numeracy standards that stems across the continuum of adult education programs (ESOL, ABE, ASB and GED Prep), and assessments (CASAS® Life and Work, TABE® 11/12, CASAS® Goals, and GED®), including the instructional strategies to effectively teach these skills. Instructional strategies will be geared towards promoting mathematical thinking and reasoning, skills retention, interactive/exploratory activities, cooperative learning, and most importantly, contextualizing instruction to support IET programs across the state. Adult educator participants will walk away with instructional resources, activities, and manipulatives that complement strategies for seamless replication into daily classroom instruction.
