This course is reserved for District Alternative Certification Program Participants.   

In this course, participants discover the facets of human development which support the intellectual, personal and social growth of K-12 students.  They examine the developmental needs of students as they are provided with strategies to meet those needs.  The content includes educational issues such as human development and learning styles, student assessment, exceptional student education (ESE) awareness and the role of the teacher.  In addition, participants examine the standards and district benchmarks, discussing their implications on classroom instruction and student achievement and the importance of creating a learning environment while utilizing techniques and strategies to maximize the educational potential of all students.
