This training was offered to the Adams Middle School staff to enhance their knowledge regarding the impact of trauma on children and adolescents, as well as classroom practices that reflect sensitivity to these factors and give students opportunities to self-regulate and self-advocate when needed. The objectives are:

 

• To increase understanding of trauma and its impact on learning

• To identify ways to help students regulate their emotions

• To learn principles and strategies for building a positive, trauma-sensitive classroom environment

• To identify and practice appropriate self-care strategies
