Course Description More Details
Participants in the workshop will learn how to compare and contrast medical and social models of disability, how to describe neurodiversity-affirming approaches and become familiar with preferred language, and how to use a student's strengths when developing approaches to assess and support neurodivergent students. Participants will also explore ethical issues they may encounter during clinical practice as SLPs in the public school setting, ethical significance, and determining the best ethically correct decision for resolution and/or least harmful repercussions.
