Workshop Abstract: While meeting diverse needs in the music setting can be challenging, strategies taken from both music education and music therapy can help music educators better meet students’ needs. In this workshop we will explore both proactive and responsive strategies designed to help you meet the needs of all your students. Topics covered will include UDL, collaborating with the IEP team, specific music-based strategies, and tips from music therapists. We will also take some time to explore questions that you have based on your own teaching experiences.

Presenter: Lori Gooding, PhD, MT-BC, Associate Professor of Music Therapy and Co-Coordinator of Music Education/Music Therapy at Florida State University.
