This workshop is for elementary music teachers who have a set of handbells or handchimes at their school and are interested in learning more about utilizing these instruments both as an ensemble and as part of the general music curriculum. Participants will learn rehearsal strategies, ringing techniques, bell/chime maintenance, repertoire selection, scheduling ideas, audition strategies, and more. The workshop will include a reading session where participants will have an opportunity to ring a variety of pieces.
