Course Description More Details
Effective reading intervention is informed by assessment. The purpose of this training is to provide teachers with a series of formal and informal reading assessments for use with students. Each assessment measures critical research-based reading skills and all are quick, reliable, and easy to use. The teachers will receive the resource that includes these valuable assessments to assist in the identification and targeting of instructional needs, monitoring student reading development, and planning appropriate intervention instruction.
Teachers will:
- utilize the assessments in an appropriate sequence
- interpret the meaning and implications for each assessment to pinpoint the source of a student’s reading difficulty
- engage in a case study analysis
- practice creating a detailed present level of performance
- write aligned goals/objectives based upon the provided case study assessments
