Course Description More Details
This 40-hour ERI Literacy for All hybrid course is designed to support an in-depth understanding of the Science of Reading and shifts in thinking about reading instruction and student learning. The objective of this course is that participants will be able to take the knowledge learned, reflect upon it, and apply it to their own instruction/role. This course consists of 4 three-hour live virtual trainings (12 hours total), covering the Science of Reading, Shifting the Balance 1-6, and assessment. In addition to the live virtual sessions, participants will complete approximately a total of 28 hours of follow up work through canvas, divided between four modules corresponding to each training session. The follow-up work is due prior to the start of the next virtual training, with the exception of courses with sessions that occur twice per week. The follow-up work will require participants to engage in discussions, reflective thinking and checks for understanding around the topics of that session, concluding with a culminating task.
***Please ensure that you are able to commit to each date of the live virtual trainings and timeline for the follow-up activities.***
