“We all can dance, when we find music that we love!”

~ Giles Andreae, Giraffes Can’t Dance

Dancing has been around as long as humans have made music. Folk dances have brought communities together for hundreds of years and they can do the same in your classroom! Join us for a workshop filled with practical strategies for teaching structured movement and getting your students excited about moving together. The session will include four leveled dances for each grade 1st-5th (total of 20 dances), from a variety of cultures and traditions. We will discuss dance terminology, practice basic and advanced dance figures, and learn tips and tricks to keep students engaged. Dances sources will include New England Dancing Masters, Sanna Longden, Phyllis Weikart, and more. Come join us on Saturday, January 27th from 9am-12pm at the ISC to get your exercise for the day and your endorphins pumping! Workshop led by Jennifer LeBlanc, music teacher at Chiles Elementary School.
